Fall Youth Team - Open to rowers in grades 7-12. Fall is a great time for coastal rowing with bigger waves, more wind, and more opportunities for fun, fitness, and competition!
Fall is for racing, skills-building, and bouncing in big waves. Coastal Rowing emphasizes the rowers' communion with the elements, learning to make the boats go faster in all conditions.
Commit to all three days each week, that's 18 days to improve your rowing before winter! Or if your schedule is limited we have a 2 day option and an after school sport option. Arrive early, as we leave the dock promptly. We can't return to pick you up, and we can't drop you off early.
Always dress in layers and bring running shoes, water shoes, an extra pair of dry socks, a hat or sunglasses, plus a water bottle. A sweatshirt, gloves, and an outer shell like a windbreaker are a good idea where it can be colder on the water.
Program Director and Coach, Frank Townsend, coordinates our youth rowing programs and can be reached via [email protected] should you have any program questions.
IMPORTANT DETAILS
To participate all rowers will read and sign our waiver and accept our safety policy as part of their registration. In addition we ask every rower to review the US Rowing Safety video. It's a staple for most rowing clubs as it covers important knowledge for on the water, on the land, weather indicators, and how to respond in an emergency.
