YOUTH SUMMER

Up to six weeks of rowing! Choose the dates and times that work for you. New rowers always welcome, from middle school through high school!

Summer Season

The Summer Season runs a total of six weeks. We meet four days per week, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, for two hours. Optionally, we race every other Friday night at 5:00 pm, and some rowers will choose to participate in additional travel races as they become available.

We promote fun, fitness, and competition, whether you are learning to row for the first time, improving skills and fitness for rowing or other sports, or you are looking for a competitive racing experience.

Open to young people who have completed 6th grade, and younger with approval of staff. Our oldest rowers are High School age.

NEW THIS YEAR - We offer six meetings per week, and three Friday night races. Purchase 6 or 12 classes at a time, and sign up for as many as your schedule allows. The program runs July 7 through August 15.

Morning classes are 9:30-11:30 am (Monday through Thursday) and afternoons are 3:00-5:00pm (Mondays and Wednesdays only.) Arrive on time, as we leave the dock promptly. We can't return to pick you up, and we can't usually drop you off early. We will have the boats put away promptly in time for pickup.

Always dress in layers and bring running shoes, water shoes, an extra pair of dry socks, a hat or sunglasses, plus a water bottle.

Program Director and Coach, Frank Townsend, coordinates our youth rowing programs and can be reached via  [email protected] should you have any program questions.

As always, CMI believes that cost should never be a barrier to rowing so please do not hesitate to reach out to [email protected] and we'll find options to keep you rowing!

IMPORTANT DETAILS

To participate all rowers will read and sign our waiver and accept our safety policy as part of their registration. In addition we ask every rower to review the US Rowing Safety video. It's a staple for most rowing clubs as it covers important knowledge for on the water, on the land, weather indicators, and how to respond in an emergency.

What to know for your rowing session

  • Your feet will get wet & the boat ramp can be slippery. Wear water shoes, crocs, old sneakers, etc. but not flip flops.
